KarateTTDI is led by Sensei Zad Datu, a coach who teaches Shitō-ryū Karate-do by its mechanics, not by rote. More than a decade in the dojo, still an active competitor on the veteran floor, and relentlessly focused on why a technique works before how hard you can throw it.

Sensei Zad Datu, full name Datu Firzada Datu Harun, has spent more than ten years coaching karateka of every age, from young children taking their first stance to seasoned veterans refining decades of practice. He has trained and coached within the Malaysian Association of Shito-ryu Karate-do since 2011.
He does not teach from the sidelines. Sensei Zad remains an active veteran competitor in both kata and kumite, still stepping onto the tournament floor at national and open championships. That living, competitive experience feeds straight back into how he prepares students.
What sets his dojo apart is how he teaches. Rather than drilling technique by repetition alone, Sensei Zad breaks down the physical and mechanical principles behind every movement, so students understand their bodies, not just the choreography.
The result is a traditional dojo with a modern, principles-first mindset: rigorous about basics, honest about application, and open to anyone willing to put in the work.
Stances, strikes, blocks and footwork broken down to their mechanics. Master how the body generates and transfers power before speed and force ever enter the equation.
The living library of Shitō-ryū. We learn the forms, then unlock their meaning through bunkai: the real application hidden inside each sequence of movement.
Controlled, progressive sparring that turns technique into instinct. From distance and timing drills to full competitive kumite for those chasing the tournament floor.
Shitō-ryū is one of the four major traditional styles of Japanese karate, founded by Kenwa Mabuni, blending the Shuri-te and Naha-te lines of Okinawan karate. KarateTTDI trains within the Malaysian Association of Shito-ryu Karate-do, with training visits to the Shitō-kai Honbu Dōjō in Japan.
